Fortres 101 is ideally suited for people who share their PC(s) and don’t want users to make any unwanted changes. This security tool allows you to put your PC on lockdown; it allows you to restrict access to programs, files, as well as Windows features. Cons:
Trial limitations: 30-day trial, nag screen.

Pros

A setup wizard will guide you through the installation process. Access to the Fortres Security Interface is password protected. You can bring up the Fortres Security Interface by using a hotkey. You can use Fortres 101 to block access to files, programs, and Windows features.

Cons

ider it as a bodyguard for your PC. A bodyguard that protects your PC from the user and the changes the user wants to make. The setup wizard that guides you through the installation process invites you to choose between installing a 30-day demo version and activating your copy using a serial number. The setup wizard also invites you to choose where the configuration files are stored: locally or on the network. And last but not least, the setup wizard invites you to create a password that will be used to access the Fortres Security Interface. You can bring up the Fortres Security by double clicking the Fortres 101 icon in the system tray. You can also bring up the Fortress Security Interface by using the Ctrl + Shift + F hotkey. Please note that access to the Fortres Security Interface is password protected. The Fortres Security Interface is divided into two panels. All the features and functions this application has to offer are grouped into categories – and these categories are presented as a list on the left hand side of the interface. Select a category and multiple features will be presented as a list on the right hand side of the interface. Place your mouse over a feature to be presented with a balloon tip that provides more info about that feature. As previously mentioned, you can use Fortres 101 to block access to files, programs, and Windows features. Lots of features can be blocked: the Start menu or Start screen, the printing function, the Control Panel, the Windows charms, the command prompt, the option to restart or shut down the computer, and more. To put it simply, you are presented with multiple options to block just about everything that the computer user could change. Fortres 101 is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. Once the 30-day trial period expires, you will have to purchase a license. Block everything that the user could change! Use Fortres 101 to make sure that no unwanted changes are made to your PC(s).
